Eight Traffic Fatalities in Licking County Last Quarter

The Licking County Health Department’s (LCHD) Safe Communities Coalition reports eight traffic fatalities during the fourth quarter of 2017, October 1 to December 31, in Licking County.

Of the eight fatalities, three were young drivers and two were not wearing a seat belt. At least three of the fatalities involved alcohol and/or drugged driving. During this same time frame in 2016 there were six reported fatal crashes.

The Western Licking County Accord is a planning effort between Jersey Township, the Village of Johnstown, and the City of New Albany. With an awareness of the pressures that come with growth and a spirit of cooperation, these jurisdictions are working together to create a shared vision and plan for the area.

The Licking County Health Department will be conducting mosquito spraying in the following locations June 13 through June 17:
* June 14, in the vicinity of Tamarack Road, Newark
* June 14, In the vicinity of the OSU-Newark Campus
* June 14, in the vicinity of E. Channel St.
* June 15, Etna Township
* June 15, Pataskala Mobile Home Park
* June 16, Buckeye Lake KOA Campground
* June 16, in the Village of Kirkersville
